The Annual Breakfast with Santa Event is a private event which takes place in the middle of December each year. While sharing in the entertainment filled Holiday Breakfast, the children with their families (175 individuals) look forward to learning more about supplemental educational resources in their communities. In addition, we also look forward to the children becoming acquainted with college and university students who are interested in becoming Mentor/Tutors and who volunteer at the Breakfast. These students look forward to meeting the youth and perhaps making an introduction that leads to the establishment a Mentor/Tutor relationship.
The Toy/Gift Wrapping Party has also become an annual event in recent years and is held in conjunction with the Breakfast with Santa Event. Local community members congregate at Buster's Ice Cream and Coffee Shop in South Pasadena. The event this past December included performances from USC Thornton's School of Music's, Ben Rose Live Jazz Quartet. Special guests included Chantel Valdivieso from The Polar Express and Santa Clause III AND Tommi Williams whose appearances include: Showtime at the Apollo and Good Morning America. Also joining the fun this past year were Mayor Michael Cacciotti of South Pasadena, and for a second year, Teresa Lamb-Simpson, District Representative of the office of Congressman Adam Schiff.
